Akanksha Batura Pai

BBA (Hons), MSc (Management), CEMS MIM, USP, 2014

Since graduation, Akanksha has been working in the shipping and logistics sector. She is currently the Head of Strategy and Growth at Sinoda Shipping Agency Pte Ltd, and is also serving as a Strategy Consultant to Raks International Pte Ltd and TransAsia Marine Services Pte Ltd. In all three of her above positions, among other duties, she is spearheading the digitization efforts of the respective companies. To encourage other smallmedium enterprise (SME) shipping organisations to embark on the digitalisation journey, Akanksha spontaneously took up the invite to be featured in MPA and Enterprise Singapore’s Go Digital videos and marketing collaterals to share her experience in Sinoda, a ship agency that is leading the forefront of digitalisation.

Akanksha is also the Liaison Officer at The Hon. Consulate-General of the Republic of Malta, Singapore. In her capacity as Liaison Officer, she handles various cultural events and trade events. She has gotten Malta to participate in the European Union Film Festival for 5 years running; she also helped to host the first ever Singapore-Malta Business Forum in 2019, which unfortunately could not be replicated in 2020 due to the pandemic.

During the extra time at hand during the Covid-19 Circuit Breaker, Akanksha also ran a successful charity drive selling handmade crochet necklaces and raised approximately SGD 2,500 for migrant workers and communities especially vulnerable during the pandemic. She then went on to start a couple of small ventures that can be found on Instagram. One is a handmade crochet business @TheReinaProject that sells various accessories, necklaces and purses, and the other is sells artisanal jewelry pieces - @ReinaBaubles.

Akanksha strongly believes in giving back to the community and has served as the Secretary of the Young Entrepreneurs Network (YEN) Committee at the Singapore Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the past. She is currently serving as the Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Singapore Shipping Association’s (SSA) Young Executives Group (YEG). She is part of various other committees at SSA as well. She is also an active member of the Circle of Digital Officers (CDO) of Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). She volunteers and readily gives back to various efforts – maritime and beyond. She had recently spoke on CNA 938 Live’s Singapore Stories hosted by radio personality Eugene Loh to share her experience being a young professional in the maritime industry.

In her free time, Akanksha enjoys Bollywood dancing, singing and hiking Singapore’s various nature trails.
