Chua Hung Meng

Hung Meng previously worked in various domestic and international banks including Industrial and Commercial Bank, AMRO Bank and Credit Suisse.

He was Head of Placement in London Forfaiting Asia Pacific Ltd in Hong Kong from 1995 to 1997. From 1997 to 2001, he was a director of one of the subsidiaries of the Singapore Technologies Group, overseeing business development in the debt capital market.

Hung Meng obtained his BBA in 1981 and received a Master’s in Professional Accounting from The University of Southern Queensland in 2003.

Currently, he is a committee member of ASAC in NUS

Steven Yeo

Steven has more than 25 years of international business and management experience working with government agencies, multi-national corporations and non-profit organisations in the healthcare IT, advanced technologies, and semiconductor industries.

Steven is also the Vice President of the BMDP Board and the Chair for Human Resource Committee as well as member of the Audit and Governance, and Nomination Committee.

Steven has significant international business and management experience at both large multinational corporations as well as global non-profit organizations. Steven was previously the Vice President and Executive Director at HIMSS, Asia Pacific and Middle East and regional Director for Intel Corporation managing its Digital Health Group and e-Supply Chain Group in the Asia region.

 Steven holds an NUS Business School MBA (Asia Pacific Executives MBA program – 2005) and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Dalhousie University, Canada.

Catherine Chai

Founder & Brand Advisor – Broc Consulting Pte Ltd

Catherine is the founder and Managing Director of Broc Consulting, a brand advisory firm based in Singapore that was established in 2008.

At Broc, Catherine works with senior business leaders in Asia to turn their products, services and businesses from bland to brand. She helps companies to increase the value of their businesses by developing robust brand strategies and creating distinctive brand assets. Before setting up Broc Consulting, Catherine worked for Pernod Ricard Singapore and Yeo Hiang Seng in brand management roles.

Catherine has been a skill-based volunteer since 2012. She works with NGOs and VWOs in a myriad of projects such as rebranding exercise, culture alignment, team building and leadership training to name a few. Some of the organisations that she has contributed to include National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre, MendakiSense, Family Life Society, Singapore International Foundation, YMCA, CPAS, and HCSA Community Services.

Roch Low

Co-Founder & Managing Director, iDealZ International Pte Ltd

Roch Low is currently Co-Founder and Managing Director of iDealZ International Pte Ltd, a regional Venture Consulting Company based in Singapore. He has over 30 years of finance and operational experience as a CFO & other Executive Leadership role in MNCs, Listed Groups and Start-up companies. He was very active during his undergraduate days having been a Bizad Club VP and Student Union councillor among others.

As an Alumnus, he has volunteered and helped organised numerous significant reunion milestones and other events for his batch. He has been and is still also a volunteer mentor with the NUS Business School Business Leadership Development Program (BLDP) and a Volunteer Supervisor for the NUS Business School Internship Program for many years. In joining the BSA he hopes to spread and drive his passion for mentorship and a giving back mentality to more alumni members.

Grace Ban

Executive Committee Member of the Breast Cancer Foundation

Grace has over 35 years of experience in marketing, brand management & public relations. Much of her career was spent in the retail industry at Metro Pte Ltd & at Estee Lauder Companies. At Metro, she was in charge of public relations. At Estee Lauder Companies, she managed both flagship & new-to-market brands for 20 years, then became Managing Director of the Singapore affiliate whilst overseeing the Singapore office comprising 8 business units in all. She has contributed to Singapore’s retail scene on an industry & governmental level. Now retired, she devotes her time to mentoring and advising senior management and corporations. She has participated in NUS Business School BLDP & served as advisor to NUS BSA Woman’s Wing. She is currently an Executive Committee Member of Breast Cancer Foundation.

Willie Wee

Naval Officer, Republic of Singapore Navy

Willie graduated from the NUS Business School in 2015. As a firm believer of a broad-based education and cross-disciplinary approach in solving problems, he opted to complete his honours without a specialisation.

For the past 5 years, Willie has been a Naval Officer with the Republic of Singapore Navy and was fortunate to have had both operational and staff experience. In addition, he has been selected to represent Singapore on various occasions, such as a multilateral counter-piracy mission in Bahrain and officer exchange programmes in Indonesia and Vietnam.

Willie strongly subscribes to the importance of continuous learning. He has been independently honing his Bahasa Indonesia fluency. In 2019 he won the National Speech Competition organised by the Indonesian Embassy, thereafter representing Singapore in Jakarta where he emerged top in the standardised proficiency test.

Willie is grateful for the many opportunities NUS offers (including meeting his life partner), and would like to give back to his alma mata. He had enjoyed running operations for NUS Bizad Charity Run’16, and looks forward to contributing his services through BSA in his term.

Koh Phee Wah

CEO, Heka Life Sciences

Since graduating in 1984, Phee Wah has lived and worked outside of Singapore for more than 20 years, from the US and Australia to China (10 years), Vietnam (4 years) and Indonesia.

His work experience was mostly with Life Sciences companies (healthcare and biosciences), including Becton Dickinson and Pharmacia/Pfizer. Most recently, he was the CEO of Uni-BioSciences, a small-cap healthcare company listed on the HKSE, helping them prepare for the launches of 2 innovative products, starting in China.

He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant while in Australia and completed an MBA while he was in the US.

He served on the Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore for 3 years, before leaving for his assignment in China. Today, he also serves on the Board of a company in Thailand, where the majority shareholder is a company listed on the London Stock Exchange.

On his return to Singapore in 2018, he founded Heka Life Sciences, from which he provides strategic advisory to companies as well as to help them execute these strategies.

During this time, he worked with SIM on their entrepreneurial project, PlatformE. He also worked separately with start-ups, some with a portfolio previously incubated through A*Star as well as start-ups from NUS Enterprise (the Lean Launchpad and GRIP programs).

Pang Jun Xiang

Insurance Supervisor, Monetary Authority of Singapore

Jun Xiang is currently an insurance supervisor with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He was previously from PwC Singapore’s Risk Assurance team, where he worked on external and internal audits. Having graduated with a BAcc (Honours) in 2017, he was also nominated as a Class Ambassador.

He actively gives back to the university, beyond Business School. During his undergraduate days, he worked with the Office of Student Admissions and Centre for Future-Ready Graduates (CFG) to pioneer NUS-wide initiatives. Now, he expands his involvement with the BSA Youth Wing and also Accountancy Wing, to continue mentoring the younger generation in whatever ways he can.

In his free time, Jun Xiang loves to go for long walks/hikes to explore new places and capture new memories, while honing his photography skills.

Angela Sim

Managing Director, ENCE Marketing Group Pte Ltd

Angela helms the ENCE Marketing Group (www.encemarketing.com), established in 2007, that helps businesses oiptimise their marketing investments and channel strategies. The group has specific marketing business units that deliver focused and pricise marketing work for what clients need. The group currently comprises of a PR arm www.affluencepr.com, an events management arm www.eminence-event.com and a design arm www.decadencedesign.com.

Prior to entrepreneurship, Angela was the Regional Brand Manager for Nakamichi, Oregon Scientific SEA, General Electric, Vintec and Transtherm, handling marketing and retail development for these brands across South East Asia. She was an active student leader in NUS, contributing to the school as Vice-President of the 10th Bizad Club Management Committee.

Out of school she has volunteered on numerous charity boards, such as the Rotary Club, Society of St Vincent De Paul and the deaf community, as well as the NUSS Alumni Development Relations committee spearheading internship and mentorship programmes for the undergraduates. Angela hopes to encourage more of her fellow Bizaders (especially the women!) to play a more active role in their alumni.

Edward Ta

Edward Ta is a director with Strix Strategies Pte Ltd, a firm specialising in forensic auditing practice, focusing primarily Singapore and the Asia Pacific region. Edward previously served as a company director with Cargill Asia Pacific Holdings Pte Ltd, a global agri-food giant. For the past 28 years, he has held various leadership roles in Cargill across multiple business units in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and China. A veteran in the agri-food commodities space, Edward was also seconded to Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia to head up various assignments. Edward is keen to develop social enterprises and mentor startup projects in Singapore and the region. He aims to contribute to the larger Singapore business community by developing a closer bond between NUS Accountancy alumni and it’s students through interesting events. He is currently the Director and also the Chairman of the Accountancy Wing of the NUSBAA.
Jeannette Chan
Co-Opt Director (Bizad Charity Run 2021), BBA
Financial Adviser, St James’s Place Wealth Management

Jeannette is our newest Board Director and brings with her a wealth of international experience from working in 3 continents over the past 25 years. After graduating from NUS she started her career in investment banking dealing in financial derivatives in Singapore then Hong Kong, moving on to London and Australia before returning to Singapore in 2019.

She is now building her wealth management business in partnership with St James’s Place, the UK’s largest private wealth company on the FTSE-100 managing over S$200 billion in private funds. In joining the BSA she wishes to give back to her alma mater and bring together more Alumni who graduated from BBA twenty years ago.

Jeannette is a sports enthusiast who used to fence competitively and enjoys golf, cycling, scuba diving and photography. Being a mom of two children she is also passionate about financial education and encouraging entrepreneurship in the younger generation.

Arthur Tan

Arthur graduated with a BBA in 1992, on the Dean’s list. The same year, he ‘parachuted’ into post-communist Hungary to set up a Singapore Company trading in electronic products and textiles and remained there for 3 years. From then on, he has been a serial entrepreneur travelling to over 60 countries, responsible for the family textile business (K L Industries), Just Acia F&B group of 4 outlets and Wine Tatler for its distribution and retailing of wines. Needless to say, he enjoys authentic food and good wines, and gives regular wine talks. NUSBSA allows him to reconnect with the school and to give back what he has gained.

Colin Chow

Colin is a global manager with more than 28 years of experience working in multi-cultural and cross geographical environments. He has worked for IBM, HP, Singapore infoComm Technology Federation/SiTF and Merril Lynch before switching to private equity and the venture capital business. Presently he is a consultant focusing on general management business development, sales/marketing and fund raising.

He has been a board member with the NUSBSAA since 2008 so as to give “back” to his alma mater for nurturing him all these years.

Winnie Cheah

Master Director, AIA Singapore

Winnie Cheah started her journey as an active Alumni Contributor in 2015 when she was invited by the Bizad Charity Run (BCR) Committee to be a Bursary Donor. Subsequently, she joined BCR 2017 as the Sponsorship & Fund-Raising Head to raise funds for Autism Resource Centre. Subsequently, she became one of the major donors of NUS Business School through establishing the Win Advisors Scholarship.

Winnie remembered her years as an underprivileged Undergrad who needed to work so as to pay for her own school fees. Upon graduation, she worked for the Banking Sector for 5 years before joining AIA Singapore as a Financial Advisor in 1997. Today, Winnie is a Master District Director, which the highest recognition of an Agency Leader in AIA. Winnie mentored and groomed many successful practitioners and leaders which has earned her prestigious awards and most of her mentees started their entrepreneurship journey with her as an Undergraduate under her Internship Program (“VEIN”). Winnie is also an industry speaker and has been invited to share her success journey with fellow practitioners in Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam etc. In 2018, she represented AIA to speak in the annual MDRT Global Conference held in Los Angeles.

In 2014, Winnie established her own Consultancy Company, Win Advisors Pte Ltd to provide value added services to young entrepreneurs and small corporates. By being part of the steering committee of NUSBSA, Winnie sees it as a form of giving back to her Alma Mater and hopes to encourage more Alumni to contribute (any form) back to the school.

Joey Gan

Asia Director for Global Health in Business Development and Solutions, Maximus Inc

Joey has been serving as an NUSBSA Board Director since 2004. She is also the Founder and Chairperson of the NUSBSA Women’s Wing.

Her full time job is with Maximus Inc, as the Asia Director for Global Health in Business Development and Solutions, working with governments and businesses to bring practical and innovative health services to serve people in the community and workforce.

Joey has extensive experience in sales, marketing and business development of business advisory and information technology solutions. She has worked with Ernst & Young for 13.5 years, serving global priority clients for all services in APAC from 2004 to 2017.

Joey believes in creating growth opportunities for all, regardless of age and gender. She loves interacting and working with youth to benefit communities at large. She has been volunteering as a mentor to NUS undergraduates for many years, in startups and internship programmes.

Daniel Lee

Management Consultant and Associate Lecturer

Daniel is an Associate Lecturer with a local university and advises various businesses in the areas of strategy and finance, after having spent over 25 years with various Fortune 100 companies and SMEs, including stints in New York and Hanoi.  A Chartered Accountant by training, his experiences include being the Regional Director for Mitel Semiconductors, Global Project Controller for Philips TV Business, Asia-Pac PE-Controller for Citicorp, various managerial roles for Motorola and American Express, prior to subsequently heading various SMEs and a Family Office.

A strong believer in a community of sharing, Daniel had volunteered his services in the Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled, Cheng San Community Centre (1987 – 2002), and was the host/moderator for the National Agenda 2 on Singapore Economy and Population Trends (1987).  He had also served in the residents’ committee in an MCST (Management Corporation Strata Tile) and held the positions of chairman, treasurer and member (2009 – 2011).   In school, Daniel was a member of the students’ council and was active in rugby and chess.

Rosy Goh

Rosy Goh has more than 20 years of experience in business process outsourcing, financial management and personnel management, financial reporting and controls, human resource and payroll matters. Her clients are across various industries including telecommunications, services, information and technology, fund management, investment, not-for-profit organisations and retail.She has also been involved in overseas accounting review projects for Malaysian and Hong Kong companies. She held multiple project management roles such as advising large companies integrate the payroll software with their internal human resource information systems (HRIS); overseeing the accounting software implementation; handling various ad-hoc accounting projects e.g. companies going for IPO, forensics accounting etc. She ensures that new outsourced projects are made seamless for clients.
Tan Boon Chin

Managing Director, Global Safety Division, NEC Corporation

Tan Boon Chin currently heads the Singapore-based NEC Global Safety Division (GSD), the first Division in NEC Corporation which is headquartered outside of Japan. In this role, Boon Chin spearheads the creation of innovative products in the safety and security sector for deployment globally.

Boon Chin was instrumental in developing the safety and security competencies of nine countries in Asia Pacific in his role as Managing Director of NEC Asia Pacific Regional Competency Centre for Public Safety (RCC-PS) from 2011 to 2017. Prior to heading the RCC-PS, he was Senior Vice President for Government Solution Business Unit at NEC Asia Pacific, leading the Singapore team in several national-level turnkey projects locally and regionally.

Boon Chin has been an active volunteer and corporate citizen, giving his time and resources back to society. He was a board member of The National University of Singapore Business School Alumni Association (NUSBSAA) since 2003, and was appointed President in 2018. He has been a committee member of IT Technical Services Committee/IDA NICF* since 2008, and a member of the TeSA** since 2016. He served as a committee member of the Central Advisory Committee of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College from 2004 to 2010.

Boon Chin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1981. He attained the NUS Asia Pacific Executive MBA in 2003.

Lee Ming Hui

Ming Hui graduated from BBA in the year 2008. In 2011, he stepped out of the corporate world to begin his entrepreneurship journey.

Ming Hui founded two companies within the space of one year. One of which is Q Research Consulting, specialising on, specifically, University Research Work from the Social Sciences and Communications field, working closely with professors and institutions to manage their research projects.

Ming Hui also founded HelpYouMarry.com, the first-ever full service marriage proposal company in Singapore, helping guys with their marriage proposal planning.

Min Hui is the Youth Wing Director of the NUSSAA and works primarily with the current and new student cohorts of the Business School and plays an important role as the bridge between the Alumni board with the future young alumni.

Elizabeth Eu

Elizabeth specialises in coaching top performers and senior executive leaders in the dynamic fast paced business environment of Asia Pacific and Japan regions. She has coached a range of leaders from regional presidents to vice presidents, country managing directors and high potential leaders from private to government institutions based in Japan, Korea, China Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South East Asia countries and Australia.

Elizabeth is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). She has a Graduate Diploma in Executive and Professional Coaching with the University of Texas Dallas and a Master of Science in Asia Pacific Human Resource Management with the National University of Singapore (NUS). She is a certified practitioner of the Hogan Assessment Systems, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DISC and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) tools.

Benn Ng

I graduated from NUS Business Admin in the year 1989. I started work as a FX dealer and has been in the same line since then.

Benn graduated from NUS Business Admin in the year 1989. He then started work as an FX dealer and has been in the same line since. At present, Benn is the head of the FX desk providing FX advisory to high net worth clients in a French Private bank. Benn is a keen runner and has done various ultra marathons including a 100km race in Hong Kong and several in Singapore. He is also keen on hiking and has hiked Mount Fuji (Japan) and Mount Rinjani (Indonesia).

Lee Ming Yong

Ming Yong graduated from NUS Business School in 2015 with major in Management and Marketing. His strong belief in the importance of people and talent to organizations led him to pursue a career in Human Resources, where he was a recipient of the National Human Resources Scholarship. He possess broad experiences in the areas of HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partnering and HR Strategy and currently works at RGE, an Indonesian conglomerate executing Strategic HR projects.

Outside of work, he believes in giving back and creating impact. He is active in HR communities where he organizes social gatherings to bring professionals together and also serve as a mentor to students and young professionals in HR. He is actively involved in NUSBSA through being on the organizing committee of the NUSBSA Youth Mentoring Program and NUS Bizad Charity Run in 2017 and looks forward to contribute more on the board.

Ow Tai Zhi

Founder and CEO, AutoWealth

Ow Tai Zhi is the founder and CEO of AutoWealth (www.autowealth.sg). He is the brain behind AutoWealth’s algorithms and investment methodologies and is responsible for the monitoring, rebalancing and investment decisions on clients’ portfolios. Prior to cofounding AutoWealth, Tai Zhi founded SkyTowers Capital Pte Ltd, and developed its flagship Global Asset System. The system registered an annualised return of 27.6% since inception, significantly outperforming the benchmark MSCI World Index and MSCI Singapore Index, as well as mutual funds with similar investment mandates over the same period. He also worked at GIC, where his investment skills and acumen in the Japanese REITs markets garnered more than US$17 million of returns on a US$50 million total return portfolio.

Since June 2014, Tai Zhi has been appointed to the SAFRA Investment Committee, which collectively oversees more than US$100 million of assets. He is also the appointed Commanding Officer-Designate of 773th Battalion, Singapore Infantry Regiment in his military national service.

Tai Zhi received the Distinguished Graduate Award from the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College in 2015. .

Lee Junxian

Junxian is the co-founder of accredited alternative investment platform, Fundnel.com, a regional fintech company which he co-founded with a number of fellow finance professionals from top investment banks and private equity funds. He is concurrently a partner at private funds White-hole ventures (based in Singapore and Hong Kong) and StartGV (Malaysia). He has prior experience in investments with large corporate funds and operational/product experience from his previous stint in a leading internet company, launching the business across 7 countries in the region.

Junxian also co-owns Reedz Café Pte Ltd, a chain of cafes serving the tertiary education and business park communities. He joined the board to give back, for if you don’t start when young, then when?

Rix Chan

Rix graduated from NUS in 1992. He is Director of Pivotal Career Solutions Pte Ltd (PCS) and Executive Director, Financial Services of Great Eastern Life. Over the past 9 years, he has spent most of his time engaging fresh graduates in in-depth career discussions through Pivotal Career Solutions. Besides interacting with youths, he is a sport fanatic who enjoys badminton and jogging.

Sonny Yuen, a BBA 85 graduate, has been President of the NUSBSA since 2014. He has just been elected President for the term 2016-2018.

He is the Director of JonDavidson Pte Ltd, a headhunting firm. JonDavidson Pte Ltd is part of the global alliance ENEX. He is a member of the Board of Directors of a listed company in Singapore. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Sonny has also worked in senior management positions. His breadth of experience covered Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Marketing, HR and IT. He joined the BSA board since 2001 and is a founding life member. He believes strongly in giving back to society either in time or other means.

Angie Ng

Senior Director of Finance, The American Club

Angie is a finance professional with more than 35 years of working experience in retail, advertising, real estate and hospitality industries in the Asia Pacific region. She has proven leadership in strategic planning, investment evaluations, capital raising, merger and acquisitions, valuation, financial modelling and pre-IPO planning and preparation.

Angie has also been actively involved in the setting up of new retail operations, takeover of hotel operations as well as the opening of new and refurbished hotels.

Angie holds a Master of Business Administration degree from National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
