Dear Alumni of NUS Business School, 

I am Hung Meng, your elected President. On behalf of the board, I extend warm greetings to you, and I am here to serve you in this term. 

2020 marks NUSBSA’s 20th Year. Thanks to the unwavering support and commitment of the NUSBSA’s community, we have grown stronger and stronger over the years. Please accept our heartfelt thanks to all who have journeyed with us in these 20 years. 

I would like to take this opportunity to share the NUSBSA’s Vision and Mission:

• Our Vision is to have a close-knit and successful NUSBSA community

• Our Mission is to build connections that inspire, educate and empower

The three ABC pillars will help us accomplish both our Vision and Mission:

Alumni Connection 

We want to connect with you as part of the NUSBSA family. 

As in past years, we will have a series of events and activities to connect with you, including professional talks and webinars, members’ night, golf tournaments that cater to different interest groups. 

We encourage you to share your experiences and expertise with fellow members and students, by being a mentor, coach or speaker. 

To help those experiencing employment challenges or considering career changes, we are launching a Career Advisory Panel to provide opportunities and career advice for our members.

Business Students Connection

Since 2014, we have been actively reaching out to our business school students and involving them in our activities such as Youth Connexion, Spec-Dating and BSA Charity Run. Such involvement gives our future leaders the opportunity to develop hands-on experience and exposure in organising events and gives us opportunities to connect with the students and learn about their needs and interests. 

In the process, we also hope to identify and support future NUSBSA leaders. We will continue to collaborate with our students to bring more relevant and engaging events to the NUSBSA and business school community.

Community Engagement 

Do well, do good. 

I am most proud of our community’s continual passion of giving back to the school and to society. I believe our generous heart and giving spirit is what distinguishes us as an alumni community. 

One of our iconic events in NUS is our BSA Charity Run where we raise funds to support financially-challenged students and communities in need. Because of the generous donations of you and your friends, over the last ten years, we have raised some $1.77 million through this event, primarily for the NUSBSA Bursary Fund. This fund continues to help students in need as well as contributes to external charities. We are thankful to the many alumni and friends for their generous support in time, donations and presence at the BSA Charity run over the years. 

We participate in the yearly NUS Day of Service where Alumni and their friends and family members come together and volunteer to make a difference by participating in events to support the vulnerable community. 

Be a member 

If you are not a member of NUSBSA but are an alumnus of the NUS Business School, we encourage you to sign up and join us. Members enjoy various discounts and benefits at many of our events. Your membership will help us better connect with you and give you greater access to our community and to opportunities as well.

COVID-19 has presented some challenges, but it has certainly not deterred our members from finding ways to carry out their events such as a virtual CPE talk and virtual BSA Charity Run. Because of our community’s continual support and enthusiasm, I am excited about the term ahead and confident that the NUSBSA community will bond and grow more connected throughout the coming year. I look forward to connecting with you through our various avenues in the year ahead.
